Capgemini’s online assessment for freshers runs five sections, and the structure has changed enough from older prep guides that knowing the current format is worth 10 minutes of your time before you register.

The test covers four eliminatory sections (Pseudocode, Quantitative, Game-Based Aptitude, English Communication) and one non-eliminatory section (Behavioral Profiling). Candidates who clear the main assessment may also be evaluated for a higher-package track, which adds a Coding round. Track details are in the section overview table below.

The 2026 Capgemini Test Structure

Senior Analyst₹6.5–7.5 LPACoding section

No negative marking in any section. If you’re unsure on a question, guess.

The test is delivered online, typically through Capgemini’s recruitment platform or a third-party proctored assessment partner. The Coding round appears only after you clear the main sections and have been evaluated for the higher-package track.

Pseudocode Section

This section tests whether you can read and trace code logic, not write production code. You get 25 questions in 25 minutes, all MCQs.

What the section covers

  • Data structures: arrays, linked lists, stacks, queues, binary search trees
  • Algorithms: binary search, bubble sort, selection sort, insertion sort
  • OOP basics: classes, objects, inheritance, polymorphism
  • Programming logic: tracing loops, conditional branches, recursion patterns

You don’t need to know a specific language. The pseudocode uses generic notation such as IF/ELSE, FOR i = 1 TO n, PRINT, and RETURN. The mental model is the same as reading a flowchart.

How to prepare

The fastest prep path is practicing pseudocode trace questions in C or Python, then stripping away the syntax until the logic is readable without a compiler. See FACE Prep’s aptitude test preparation framework for a 4-week plan that covers pseudocode drilling alongside quantitative and reasoning sections.

For the pseudocode section specifically, two exercise types build the right reflex: (a) dry-run a piece of code line by line on paper, noting the variable values at each step, and (b) identify what a function returns for two or three different inputs before checking. Both can be done with any introductory programming textbook.

English Communication and Game-Based Aptitude

English Communication (15–20 MCQs)

Capgemini replaced its earlier essay-writing round with an MCQ-based English test. The 15-minute section covers:

  • Grammar: sentence correction, error spotting
  • Vocabulary: synonyms, antonyms, contextual usage
  • Reading comprehension: short passages with inference questions
  • Sentence completion

The difficulty is moderate. If you can read a standard engineering textbook in English without difficulty, you’re in the right range. Where students drop marks: reading the comprehension passage too quickly and missing inference questions that require reading between the lines. Give the passage a full read before attempting the questions.

Game-Based Aptitude (4 interactive games)

Capgemini replaced its traditional MCQ logical reasoning section with game-based tasks. The four games assess cognitive processing speed, pattern recognition, memory, and deductive logic. The underlying cognitive skills are the same as classic logical reasoning; the delivery is not.

For a detailed breakdown of the game types and preparation resources, see FACE Prep’s Capgemini logical reasoning and game-based aptitude guide, which covers each game category with examples.

Two practical notes on the game-based section. First, the games run in a browser, so do a dry run with your hardware before the actual test day. A laggy mouse or a display refresh issue can cost you response time in speed-and-accuracy tasks. Second, most game-based aptitude platforms allow free trial sessions. Spending 30 minutes on a cognitive-training site like Lumosity or Cambridge Brain Sciences before the test gives you a feel for the format.

Behavioral Competency Profiling (ADEPT-15)

ADEPT-15 is a personality psychometric, not an aptitude test or a case interview. Capgemini uses it to map your work-style preferences against their team-fit model. It does not eliminate candidates by itself.

How the section works

  • You see five pairs of statements on each screen.
  • For each pair, you choose which statement reflects you more.
  • You cannot skip items.
  • Duration: 20 minutes, fixed.

There is no “right” answer. The common mistake is trying to game the test by choosing what sounds most “corporate.” ADEPT-15 is designed with inconsistency checks built in; if your choices contradict each other across the test, the system flags the result as unreliable. Answer based on how you actually operate, not how you think Capgemini wants you to operate.

What ADEPT-15 maps to

The ADEPT framework (from Psytech) measures 15 personality dimensions relevant to work behavior: conscientiousness, detail focus, team orientation, persuasiveness, and stress resilience are among them. HR uses this profile in the final HR interview. It can inform questions, but it does not override the technical evaluation.

After the Online Test: What Comes Next

Clearing the online assessment moves you into Capgemini’s interview rounds:

  • Technical Interview: Tests core CS concepts, coding ability, and problem-solving. For the Analyst track, expect questions on data structures, DBMS basics, and one or two pseudocode-style problems. The Senior Analyst interview covers the same ground with higher complexity.
  • HR Interview: Assesses communication skills, attitude, and team fit. ADEPT-15 results may shape some questions here. Interviewers commonly ask about projects, career goals, and how you handle working under pressure.

The entire process typically spans two to four weeks from online test to offer letter, depending on how quickly Capgemini schedules batch interviews at your campus or drive location.

What Capgemini’s AI-Ready Hiring Means for Final-Year Students

The test pattern is one part of the picture. The hiring context is the other.

Per Economic Times reporting (2025), Capgemini India planned to hire up to 45,000 in 2025 with a stated focus on building an AI-ready workforce. The company also reduced its headcount by 10,000 in 2024 to concentrate on selective hiring for AI-related roles. At the same time, Capgemini partnered with Nasscom Foundation to train 700+ youths in AI technical and professional skills.

Reading those three data points together: Capgemini is hiring more, but selectively. AI fluency is becoming a visible differentiator even for entry-level Analyst roles.

The pseudocode section already asks you to read algorithmic logic without knowing the syntax. That skill transfers directly into reading AI model pipelines, understanding agent orchestration code, and debugging LLM API calls. Students who add that layer, understanding how AI systems are actually built rather than just how to use them as chatbots, will have a meaningful edge in technical interviews and HR conversations.

The 2026 AI roadmap for Indian engineering students lays out a free-to-paid curriculum stack that fits inside a final-year semester. If you want to test the practical side of that at low cost, TinkerLLM offers a hands-on LLM sandbox at ₹299. The same month you clear Capgemini’s pseudocode section is a reasonable time to start building with real APIs.

Frequently asked questions

Is there negative marking in the Capgemini online test?

No. There is no negative marking in any section of the Capgemini online assessment. Attempt every question.

What is the CTC difference between Analyst and Senior Analyst tracks?

The Analyst track offers ₹4.0–4.5 LPA. The Senior Analyst track offers ₹6.5–7.5 LPA and requires clearing a higher cutoff plus an additional coding round.

What does the Capgemini pseudocode section test?

It tests your ability to trace and understand pseudocode logic, not write code in a specific language. Topics include data structures (arrays, stacks, queues, trees), algorithms (binary search, sorting), and basic OOP concepts.

How long is the Capgemini ADEPT-15 behavioral test?

The ADEPT-15 section runs for 20 minutes. It presents pairs of statements and asks which you agree with more. It is non-eliminatory and profiles work style rather than screening candidates out.

What CGPA is required for Capgemini campus recruitment?

Capgemini typically requires a minimum 60% or 6.0 CGPA with no active backlogs. Exact cutoffs can vary by institution and batch. Check your placement cell for the terms in the offer letter.

Does practicing classic logical reasoning MCQs help for the game-based section?

Yes. The underlying skills are the same: pattern recognition, deductive thinking, and processing speed. The delivery format is interactive games rather than MCQs, but the cognitive prep transfers.
