Launchpad. 6 days of building, not orienting.
A hands-on fresher induction where first-year students build a website, wire an RC car, program an autonomous robot, and fly a drone they assembled themselves. 60 walk in. 60 walk out with six artefacts each.
The first week of college, fundamentally different.
Most fresher inductions are forgettable. Launchpad is the version your students talk about for the next four years.
Tangible, not theoretical
Most fresher inductions are slide decks and ice-breakers. Launchpad ends with hardware students can hold up.
Story-worth-telling
Every student leaves with a story for parents, friends, and one day, a recruiter. The first-year identity gets built.
Designed for first-years
No prior coding, no prior electronics, no prior hardware needed. The scaffolding gets students to "I made this work" by day 4.
Operationally repeatable
60 students per cohort, materials and consumables sourced and shipped by FACE Prep, faculty co-delivery optional. Plug-and-run for the host institution.
6 days, day by day.
Each day ends with a deliverable students can hold up, show to parents, or screenshot for LinkedIn. No "we'll cover this tomorrow." Build today, ship today.
Soft skills + team formation
Group challenges, ice-breakers with structure, team formation by aptitude rather than alphabet. Leaderboards visible from hour one.
Team identity + GPE round results
Soft skills — scored rounds
Group Personality Evaluation (GPE), structured debates, problem-pitch rounds. Every student speaks, every round is scored on a public leaderboard.
Individual confidence baseline + team standings
AI workshop
Live website build using current AI tools. LinkedIn profile drafted to recruiter-ready standard. GitHub profile populated with a starter project.

RC Bluetooth car
Wire it. Code it. Pair it to a phone. Race it on the track the team designed. First taste of "I made this work."
1 working Bluetooth-controlled RC car
Line-follower robot
Autonomous behaviour from scratch — sensors, motor logic, calibration. Race on the track. Debug live with the cohort watching.
1 autonomous line-follower robot
Drone build + flight
Assemble. Configure. Calibrate. Fly. The full Launchpad cohort sees first-year students lift their own drone off the ground.
1 self-assembled, flown drone
What each student walks out with.
Six tangible outputs. All earned in the same week. All shareable with parents, all checkable by recruiters two years from now.
Working RC car
They built it. They paired it. They raced it.
Line-follower robot
Autonomous behaviour, calibrated and demoed.
Their own drone
(Full tier) Assembled, configured, flown.
Live website
Their first portfolio page on the public internet.
Recruiter-ready LinkedIn + GitHub
Drafted, edited, published in the workshop.
A leaderboard rank
Cohort-scored across soft-skill rounds. Talked about for months.
Two tiers. Per student. All-inclusive.
Materials, consumables, instructor delivery, and cohort dashboard included in both tiers. Final pricing depends on cohort size and travel.
