Fresher IT hiring in Delhi NCR splits across five zones, with Cyber City Gurugram, Noida’s Sector 62 and 125 corridor, and Greater Noida each hosting a distinct employer profile.

The national IT fresher picture covers company tiers, CTC bands, and eligibility floors. This article adds the NCR layer: which zones matter, which companies are active in each, and which application routes get results. The geography matters because Gurugram-based GCC employers (EY GDS, KPMG GDS, Deloitte USI, Nagarro) are not the same market as Noida’s IT service campuses (HCL, Wipro, TCS), even though both sit under the NCR umbrella.

NCR’s Five IT Zones

NCR’s IT geography divides into five zones. Commute times, company profiles, and role types differ across each. Treating “NCR” as one undifferentiated market costs time at the application stage.

Cyber City and Udyog Vihar, Gurugram

DLF Cyber City in Gurugram Phases 2 and 3 concentrates the MNC GCC and consulting headcount. EY GDS, KPMG GDS, Deloitte USI, Genpact (headquartered here), Accenture, and Capgemini all operate large campuses in or adjacent to Cyber City. Nagarro, a product engineering company headquartered in Gurugram, and Optum, the health IT arm of UnitedHealth Group, also anchor here. PolicyBazaar and MakeMyTrip, both Gurugram-based, run tech teams in this belt.

Salary floors at GCC and consulting-class companies in Gurugram run higher than at IT service firms. Hiring volumes per drive are smaller, and selection screens are more intensive.

Noida Sector 62 and the Expressway Corridor

Noida’s IT corridor runs through Sector 62 (Logix Techno Park, Stellar IT Park, Advant Navis Business Park) and continues south along the Noida Expressway through Sectors 125, 128, and 132. HCL’s large campus sits in Sector 125. Adobe’s Noida campus is on the Expressway belt. Wipro, TCS, and Infosys maintain NCR offices throughout this corridor. Globant, the product engineering company, operates its Noida office here.

Paytm’s headquarters in Sector 132 and Newgen Software’s Noida campus also fall in this zone. Both run more selective hiring processes than the service-tier volume model.

Connaught Place, Barakhamba Road, and Saket

Connaught Place and the Barakhamba Road belt host corporate offices and some GCC operations, primarily analytics and back-office functions. IBM and Infosys have Delhi-core presences. Most fresher hiring for operational roles routes to Gurugram or Noida campuses rather than Delhi-centre offices. Saket district centre hosts mid-size consulting and BFSI-adjacent IT companies. Fresher hiring volume here is lower than the Gurugram and Noida corridors.

Faridabad and Ghaziabad SEZ

Faridabad has an operational SEZ cluster with manufacturing-adjacent IT and engineering services firms. Ghaziabad’s Indirapuram and Raj Nagar Extension areas host back-office and IT services companies. Both zones hire IT freshers but at lower volumes than Gurugram and Noida. For students from Faridabad-area colleges (e.g., JC Bose University) or Ghaziabad-area colleges (e.g., KIET Group of Institutions), these zones are geographically practical and worth targeting before the commute-heavy Gurugram options.

Greater Noida Knowledge Park

Greater Noida’s Knowledge Park and Techzone clusters host R Systems, NIIT Technologies’ operations, and mid-size IT services companies. For students from Greater Noida engineering colleges (GL Bajaj, Galgotias, Bennett University, Sharda University), this zone is the nearest interview destination for Noida-corridor companies and a practical starting point.

The GCC and consulting tier does not run the same high-volume aptitude-and-batch model as the IT service firms. Their processes are more selective, seat count per drive is smaller, and technical evaluation is heavier. Eligibility floor is not the binding constraint at these companies. Interview quality is.

D.E. Shaw’s Gurugram office and ZS Associates’ Gurugram campus represent a separate tier: quantitative and technical screens at a depth that standard aptitude prep does not cover. D.E. Shaw’s recruitment process and ZS Associates’ aptitude and interview process each warrant dedicated preparation well beyond the service-tier path.

Off-Campus Application Routes That Work

For students who did not secure a role during on-campus drives, or whose college has limited corporate tie-ups:

TCS NQT

TCS NQT (National Qualifier Test) is the standard off-campus entry gate for TCS Ninja and TCS Digital tracks. Register at nextstep.tcs.com. NCR posting locations for TCS freshers are typically the Noida office and, for some roles, Connaught Place.

AMCAT Score

A strong AMCAT percentile gets you onto shortlists for Cognizant, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, and HCL without a campus drive. Before booking an AMCAT slot, understand what placement evaluation tests measure and how they are scored. The format affects which sections to prioritise in preparation.

  • Percentile bar: top-quarter section scores for most NCR IT service companies
  • AMCAT is accepted by Cognizant and HCL for NCR off-campus shortlisting
  • Infosys uses its own InfyTQ platform, not AMCAT

Direct Career Portals

Most NCR IT service companies list fresher openings on their own portals before they appear on aggregators:

  • nextstep.tcs.com (TCS)
  • careers.infosys.com (Infosys InfyTQ)
  • careers.wipro.com
  • careers.hcltech.com
  • careers.cognizant.com

Direct applications skip some of the volume-filtering that aggregators introduce.

LinkedIn and Naukri Campus

Gurugram hiring managers at IT companies use LinkedIn actively for off-campus sourcing. A completed LinkedIn profile with a public GitHub repository and a project or two surfaces in recruiter searches. Naukri Campus has a dedicated fresher section where NCR IT companies post during open recruitment cycles.

What NCR Freshers Face in 2026

NCR’s IT market has two tiers that are structurally different, not just different by CTC.

The IT service tier (TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, Cognizant, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra) runs high-volume aptitude-plus-coding screens. Preparation for these is well-mapped. Aptitude, basic DSA in one language, and a verbal or communication assessment cover the filter at every service-tier company in NCR. A structured reading list for these screens is covered in the placement preparation book guide.

The product and GCC tier (Nagarro, Globant, Adobe Noida, Optum, EY GDS, KPMG GDS) runs a more intensive process: DSA depth, some system design awareness, and in several cases a portfolio or take-home evaluation. Clearing the IT service aptitude bar is necessary but not sufficient for these companies. The gap is not credentials. It is demonstrable technical work.

NASSCOM’s India IT sector data puts NCR in the top four metro markets for IT employment, with Gurugram’s GCC concentration growing faster than Bengaluru’s in proportional terms over the last two years. That growth is weighted toward mid-senior roles, but it also means fresher pipelines at GCC-tier companies are expanding.

NCR’s geography adds a logistics dimension. A Noida Sector 125 interview is 40 to 60 minutes from most Delhi or NCR hostels. Gurugram’s Cyber City is accessible from central Delhi via the Yellow Line Metro to Millennium City Centre station. Factor commute into interview scheduling, especially if juggling multiple drives in the same week.

The product and GCC companies in Gurugram (Nagarro, Globant, Optum) evaluate candidates on technical depth and, for some roles, on deployed projects that demonstrate engineering judgment. A working application, even a simple one, carries more weight at a Nagarro or Globant interview than an additional aptitude practice session. TinkerLLM at ₹299 gives you a live LLM environment to build and deploy an AI-powered project, which is the kind of concrete output that differentiates a product-tier shortlist from a service-tier one in NCR’s GCC cluster.

Frequently asked questions

Which area in Delhi NCR has the most IT companies for freshers?

Cyber City Gurugram (Phases 2 and 3) and Noida's Sector 62/125 corridor together account for most IT fresher hiring in NCR. Gurugram concentrates GCC and consulting employers (EY GDS, KPMG GDS, Deloitte USI, Genpact, Nagarro); Noida Sector 125 hosts HCL's large campus plus Wipro, TCS, and Globant. Both zones are connected by Metro or road, but treat them as separate job markets with different interview styles.

What is the minimum CGPA required for IT fresher jobs in Noida?

IT service companies in Noida (TCS, HCL, Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys) set their standard floor at 60% aggregate or 6.0 CGPA across Class 10, Class 12, and the undergraduate degree with no active backlogs. Product and GCC-tier companies in the Noida corridor (Globant, Adobe Noida) typically require 65% or 7.0 CGPA and emphasise project portfolio over aptitude score.

Can ECE and EEE graduates apply for IT roles in NCR?

Yes. TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, Cognizant, and Accenture all accept ECE, EEE, and other non-CSE branches for software trainee and system engineer roles at their NCR campuses, subject to the standard 60% eligibility floor. Coding rounds are identical regardless of branch. ECE/EEE candidates should prepare DSA in C++ or Java and treat the aptitude section the same way CSE candidates do.

Does Adobe hire freshers at its Noida campus?

Adobe has offices at its Noida campus on the Noida Expressway belt, but fresher hiring at Adobe is primarily through on-campus drives at IITs, NITs, and select premier engineering colleges. Off-campus applications are accepted at careers.adobe.com but the volume of fresher off-campus hires is much smaller than at IT service companies. The role is typically titled Computer Scientist or Member of Technical Staff.

Which NCR IT companies shortlist candidates through AMCAT?

Cognizant, HCL, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, and several mid-size NCR IT firms shortlist off-campus candidates through AMCAT scores. A percentile in the top quarter for your section scores is typically the bar. Infosys uses its own InfyTQ platform. TCS uses NQT. AMCAT is most relevant for Cognizant and HCL off-campus routes in NCR.

How is the Gurugram GCC market different from Noida IT services for freshers?

Gurugram's GCC cluster (EY GDS, KPMG GDS, Deloitte USI, Optum, Genpact) runs smaller-volume, more selective hiring with deeper technical and communication screens. CTC bands start higher (typically 5.5 LPA and above for analyst roles) but seat count per drive is far lower than IT services. Noida's IT service cluster (HCL, Wipro, TCS) hires in bulk with standardised aptitude-and-coding screens. Preparing for both simultaneously is possible but requires a different test strategy.

What is the off-campus route for IT jobs in Gurugram without a campus drive?

For service-tier Gurugram companies (Accenture, Cognizant, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra), AMCAT score plus the company's own careers portal are the primary off-campus routes. For GCC and consulting tier (EY GDS, KPMG GDS, Deloitte USI, Nagarro), LinkedIn is the dominant sourcing channel and a strong public GitHub with deployed projects is the most effective differentiator. Direct career portal applications for these companies are also monitored by Gurugram-based recruiters.
