You don’t apply for Ninja separately. You sit the NQT, and TCS assigns a track based on your score. That’s worth understanding early: the preparation target is not “pass or fail”; it’s “how high can I score?”

Weeks 1–5: concept foundation

The first phase covers the topics that actually appear in NQT, not an exhaustive quantitative curriculum:

  • Reasoning: series, arrangements, blood relations, coding-decoding, syllogisms
  • Verbal Ability: reading comprehension, sentence correction, vocabulary in context

Students who spread this phase too wide (trying to cover advanced topics from a full aptitude book) tend to under-perform in the second phase because they haven’t automated the basics. The goal is not breadth; it’s speed on the questions that actually appear.

Weeks 6–10: timed simulation

This is where the preparation diverges from casual study. The shift is from understanding topics to performing under NQT’s actual time pressure.

Reasoning Ability

Series and arrangement problems dominate. Both reward pattern recognition over calculation. Students who try to solve each arrangement question by testing every possibility run out of time. Verbal Ability

Under-drilled by most candidates and not as forgiving as it looks. Reading comprehension asks you to locate a specific inference, not recall the passage. Sentence correction tests subject-verb agreement and parallelism, not general grammar intuition.   • Treating all aptitude topics as equally important. TCS NQT has a known question distribution. Time-work and ratio problems appear far more often than calendar or clock problems. Weighted preparation outperforms uniform coverage.

AI skills and the TCS Ninja track in 2026

Ninja is still an entry track where AI is a bonus, not a requirement. The NQT Foundation score gates Ninja eligibility; no AI assessment is built into the Ninja-level screening.
