Wipro’s NLTH online assessment covers 20 aptitude questions across logical reasoning, quantitative ability, and verbal ability in a 60-minute window, and most eliminations happen on seating arrangement and comprehension questions where students run out of time.

What Wipro NLTH Tests in 2026

NLTH stands for National Level Talent Hunt. Wipro has also run the programme under the name NTH (National Talent Hunt) at different points; both names refer to the same campus hiring track. The test is administered online by AMCAT / SHL India.

The standard NLTH leads to the Wipro Standard or Velocity hire track at ₹3.5–4.0 LPA, as confirmed in Wipro’s Q3 FY26 CHRO commentary (The Hindu Business Line). A second, differentiated track runs through Wipro’s 50 university Centres of Excellence (CoE) for AI, cybersecurity, and data. CoE-track candidates go through a separate interview process and receive a premium above the Standard/Velocity band; the specific CTC is not publicly disclosed.

Eligibility is the same for both tracks: B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech from any branch, minimum 60% in each of 10th, 12th, and degree independently, no active backlogs. Confirm the specific window for your drive on careers.wipro.com.

Online Assessment Structure

The NLTH online test has two components:

ComponentDetail
Aptitude20 questions covering Quantitative, Logical, and Verbal sub-areas
Essay Writing1 topic
Total duration60 minutes
ProctoringWebcam-based via AMCAT / SHL India
Negative markingNone
Section navigationFixed order; cannot return to a previous section

The 20 aptitude questions draw from all three sub-areas combined, not as separate timed sections. Some tech-track Wipro drives add a coding section (Automata-Fix); the format varies by drive, so verify the exact structure for your batch.

For the full section-by-section syllabus, see NLTH eligibility and syllabus.

Sample Questions: Logical Ability

Logical ability questions test series completion, directions, blood relations, coding-decoding, and seating arrangements. Series and blood relations are faster to solve; seating arrangements take longer and should be attempted once quicker questions are done.

Number Series

  • Q: Find the next term: 2, 6, 12, 20, 30, __
  • Options: (a) 36 (b) 40 (c) 42 (d) 44
  • Answer: (c) 42
  • Solution:
    • The pattern: each term equals n times (n+1), where n = 1, 2, 3, …
    • Term 1: 1 x 2 = 2
    • Term 2: 2 x 3 = 6
    • Term 3: 3 x 4 = 12
    • Term 4: 4 x 5 = 20
    • Term 5: 5 x 6 = 30
    • Term 6: 6 x 7 = 42

Alternatively: the differences between consecutive terms are 4, 6, 8, 10, giving the next difference as 12. Either approach reaches 42 cleanly.

Directions

  • Q: Asha walks 6 km north, then turns right and walks 4 km, then turns right again and walks 6 km. How far is she from her starting point?
  • Options: (a) 2 km (b) 4 km (c) 6 km (d) 10 km
  • Answer: (b) 4 km
  • Solution:
    • Start: origin (0, 0), facing north
    • After 6 km north: at position (0, 6)
    • Turn right (now facing east), walk 4 km: at position (4, 6)
    • Turn right (now facing south), walk 6 km: at position (4, 0)
    • Straight-line distance from origin: the east-west displacement is 4 km; the north-south displacement is 0 km (started and ended at the same north level)
    • Distance = 4 km, direction = east

Blood Relations

  • Q: A is B’s sister. B is C’s father. D is C’s mother. How is A related to D?
  • Options: (a) Daughter (b) Niece (c) Sister-in-law (d) Mother-in-law
  • Answer: (c) Sister-in-law
  • Solution:
    • A is B’s sister (A and B are siblings)
    • B is C’s father and D is C’s mother, so B and D are married
    • A is B’s sister, therefore A is D’s sister-in-law

Sample Questions: Quantitative Ability

Quantitative questions test percentages, profit and loss, time and work, time-speed-distance, and ratios. Two-step word problems are the most common format. Format all working step-by-step during the actual test to avoid arithmetic slips under time pressure.

Time and Work

  • Q: Anand can complete a task in 10 days. Bina takes 15 days for the same task. Working together, how many days do they need?
  • Options: (a) 5 days (b) 6 days (c) 7 days (d) 8 days
  • Answer: (b) 6 days
  • Solution:
    • Anand’s rate: 1/10 of the task per day
    • Bina’s rate: 1/15 of the task per day
    • Combined rate: 1/10 + 1/15 = 3/30 + 2/30 = 5/30 = 1/6 per day
    • Time to complete: 6 days

Profit and Loss

  • Q: A trader buys an item for ₹600 and sells it for ₹750. What is the profit percentage?
  • Options: (a) 20% (b) 25% (c) 30% (d) 33.3%
  • Answer: (b) 25%
  • Solution:
    • Profit = 750 - 600 = ₹150
    • Profit percentage = (150 / 600) x 100 = 25%

Ages Ratio

  • Q: The ages of Priya and Rahul are in the ratio 3:5. The sum of their ages is 48 years. How old is Rahul?
  • Options: (a) 18 years (b) 24 years (c) 30 years (d) 36 years
  • Answer: (c) 30 years
  • Solution:
    • Let Priya = 3x and Rahul = 5x
    • 3x + 5x = 48, so 8x = 48, giving x = 6
    • Rahul = 5 x 6 = 30 years

Sample Questions: Verbal Ability

Verbal ability questions test reading comprehension, sentence error identification, fill-in-the-blank, and sentence correction. Most students lose marks on error identification because the errors are grammatical, not factual, and require knowing subject-verb agreement and tense rules.

Error Identification

  • Q: Identify the error in the following sentence: “Neither the manager nor his assistants was present at the meeting.”
  • Answer: “was” should be “were”
  • Explanation:
    • In “neither…nor” constructions, the verb agrees with the subject closest to it
    • “his assistants” is plural and is closest to the verb
    • The correct form is “were present”

Fill in the Blank

  • Q: “After the long journey, the passengers looked ____.”
  • Options: (a) exhaustion (b) exhausted (c) exhausting (d) exhaust
  • Answer: (b) exhausted
  • Explanation:
    • “Looked” is a linking verb in this sentence
    • A linking verb takes a predicate adjective, not a noun or present participle
    • “Exhausted” is the past participle used as an adjective, matching the intended meaning

Preparation Approach and What Changes in 2026

A practical 6-week plan for the NLTH aptitude section:

  • Weeks 1 to 2: Quantitative ability. Work 10 to 15 mixed problems daily covering percentages, profit-loss, time-work, and ratios. Focus on two-step word problems; Wipro drives rarely test anything more complex.
  • Weeks 3 to 4: Logical reasoning. Seating arrangements and blood relations take the most prep time. Spend the first week on series and coding-decoding (faster gains), then move to arrangements in week four.
  • Weeks 5 to 6: Verbal ability. One reading comprehension passage daily. Practice error identification using standard grammar rules: subject-verb agreement, tense consistency, and pronoun reference.
  • Throughout: Essay writing gets neglected in most prep plans and it shouldn’t. A 250-word timed essay every other day builds the habit.

No negative marking means the correct strategy is to attempt every question. On unfamiliar questions, eliminate the two most obviously wrong options and choose between the remaining two.

After aptitude, the next gate is the technical interview. The Wipro interview questions guide covers what the technical and HR rounds test and how they differ across the Standard and CoE tracks.

Wipro’s 2026 Hiring Context

Wipro revised its FY26 fresher intake to 7,500–8,000, down from the earlier 10,000–12,000 target, per Wipro CHRO Saurabh Govil’s Q3 FY26 commentary (The Hindu Business Line). The reduction means competition for each spot is stiffer, but the bar for aptitude clearance itself has not changed. What has changed is the premium on AI-skilled candidates: Wipro runs 50 university CoEs where it co-builds AI, cybersecurity, and data curriculum with partner universities, and pays above the Standard band for candidates with demonstrated AI competence.

For students whose campus doesn’t have a Wipro CoE, building AI project work independently achieves much the same differentiation. TinkerLLM at ₹299 is a practical starting point for hands-on LLM work rather than another watched-course certificate. For the full picture of the skills Wipro’s CoE-track interviews look for in 2026, the 2026 AI roadmap for Indian engineering students covers the curriculum, project ideas, and what separates CoE-candidate profiles from Standard ones.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Wipro NLTH the same as the Wipro NTH test?

NLTH stands for National Level Talent Hunt and NTH stands for National Talent Hunt. Wipro has used both names for the same campus hiring programme at different points in time. The online assessment structure — logical, quantitative, and verbal aptitude sections — is the same under either name.

Is there negative marking in the Wipro NLTH aptitude test?

No. The NLTH test has no negative marking. There is no penalty for wrong answers, so attempt every question in the Aptitude section. If you are unsure, eliminate the least likely option and make your best guess rather than skip.

What topics appear most often in Wipro NLTH logical ability?

Seating arrangements (both linear and circular), number and letter series, blood relations, and coding-decoding are the most frequently tested topics in the logical ability sub-section. Series and blood relations questions are typically quicker to solve; seating arrangements take the most time.

Can ECE or EEE students apply for Wipro NLTH?

Yes. Wipro NLTH is open to B.E./B.Tech and M.E./M.Tech graduates from all engineering branches, including ECE, EEE, Mechanical, and Civil, provided they meet the minimum 60% criterion independently in 10th, 12th, and degree with no active backlogs.

How long does the full Wipro NLTH process take from test to offer?

Typically 4 to 8 weeks from the online assessment to offer letter, depending on the college drive schedule. The process includes the online aptitude and essay test, a technical interview, and an HR interview. Some drives complete all rounds in a single day on campus.
